Frequently asked questions
- Q: What is www.FleetViolations.com?
- Answer: www.FleetViolations.com allows you, the driver of a leased vehicle, the ability to manage your citations through an online account.
- Q: Why did I receive a registration packet?
- Answer: The Fleet Management Company that owns your vehicle has chosen American Traffic Solutions to process their violations for all vehicles in their fleet. The registration packet explains how the program works and how to register in order to setup an account.
- Q: Do I have to register if I received a registration packet?
- Answer: Registering enables American Traffic Solutions to transfer liability from the Fleet Management Company whenever possible. This enables you to dispute directly with the issuing authority if you feel it is necessary or pay the issuing authority as you see fit.
- Q: How do I register when I did not receive a registration packet?
- Answer: American Traffic Solutions only sends registration packets to drivers specified by the Fleet Management Company. If you feel that your fleet has contracted with American Traffic Solutions to process citations on their behalf, please use the Contact Us link for further inquiry.
- Q: I received a new registration code but I am already registered with www.FleetViolations.com.
- Answer: New registration codes are generated if ATS cannot associate the new vehicle with your existing profile. To associate the new vehicle to your profile, please use the Contact Us link to notify us of the new registration code.
- Q: My account is locked and I cannot log in, how can I unlock it?
- Answer: You must call the customer service center to unlock your account. Locked accounts occur when you have unsuccessfully exceeded the number of attempts to login.
- Q: I forgot my username and/or password, how can I reset them?
- Answer: If you forgot your username or password, you can request information by selecting the Log In link on the left hand side of the page then selecting “Forgot your Username or Password?” options.
- Q: How can I register a new car or update my vehicle information?
- Answer: The Fleet Management Company that owns your vehicle is the only entity that can update your vehicle information. You can contact your Fleet Management Company for further inquiry or use the Contact Us link for American Traffic Solutions to gather information we will relay back to the Fleet Management Company.
- Q: How do I opt-out of the program and not have ATS process my citations?
- Answer: You cannot choose to opt-out of the citation processing program. Your Fleet Management Company has a contract with ATS to process citations on their behalf. The fleet itself is the only entity that can choose to opt-out of the program.
- Q: Why was I charged an administration fee?
- Answer: The administration fee covers the cost associated with violation data entry and data exchange with the Fleet Management Company. It also covers printing, mailing, banking and administrative fees incurred in billing fine amounts to drivers and communicating with the ticket issuers.
- Q: I do not remember getting a ticket.
- Answer: Unless you physically received a parking citation that was placed on the leased vehicle, it is very possible that you were unaware that a photo or toll violation was issued against the vehicle. If you feel the violation(s) was issued in error, please contact the Issuing Authority regarding your dispute.
- Q: I didn't know I was on a toll road.
- Answer: There are several all-electronic, barrier-free toll highways in existence, most notably the 407 ETR in Canada, and some toll roads in Colorado, Florida and Texas. Since there are no toll booths, you may not have been aware that you were entering a toll highway but you are still legally responsible for the fees.
- Q: I received an invoice in the mail and would like to make a payment. What are my options?
- Answer: You may pay the invoice online by registering with www.FleetViolations.com using the registration code provided in the upper right hand corner of your invoice. You may also mail a check using the coupon that was provided at the bottom of your invoice. If you no longer have the invoice coupon, you may print the new one once you log in.
- Q: I received and paid a parking ticket directly to the Issuing Authority. I also received an invoice for the same ticket.
- Answer: You will need to provide us with proof of payment made to the Issuing Authority by the violation due date. Please fax a payment receipt or the front and back of your canceled check to us. Please reference the Contact Us link on the site for the fax number. Be sure to provide the Notice Number, your name, address and amount charged with your faxed materials. We will be able to credit your outstanding balance once adequate proof-of-payment has been received.
- Q: I used my personal transponder in my vehicle and am now being charged for a toll violation. How can I resolve this issue?
- Answer: You will need to contact the Toll Authority to transfer the toll charges to your personal transponder. Once this is done, you may send us proof of transfer via fax to us. Please reference the Contact Us link on the site for the fax number. Be sure to provide the Notice Number, your name, address and amount charged with your faxed materials. We can then adjust the charges accordingly. If your personal transponder shows a toll charge for which you were also billed a toll violation (a duplicate), please fax your transponder statement with the duplicate toll circled. Be sure to provide the Notice Number, your name, address and amount charged with your faxed materials. We will research and adjust the charges accordingly.
- Q: Although it is my vehicle, I was not driving at the time the citation occurred.
- Answer: Per the lease agreement terms, the lessee is responsible for the payment of fines, penalties and administration fees charged to the car during the leasing period.
- Q: My vehicle was stolen and was not in my possession at the time that the violation occurred.
- Answer: The lessee is responsible for the payment of fines, penalties and administration fees charged to the vehicle up until the date and time that you reported it as stolen. If the violations for which you were billed occurred after the date and time that the vehicle was reported as stolen, you will need to contact the Fleet Management Company to resolve this situation.
- Q: The vehicle was sold prior to the time the violation occurred.
- Answer: The lessee or Fleet Management Company is responsible for the payment of fines, penalties and administration fees charged to the vehicle up until the end date and time that the vehicle is sold. If the violations for which you were billed occurred after the Fleet Management Company removed the vehicle from your possession, you will need to contact the Fleet Management Company to resolve the situation.
- Q: What is considered a personal trip?
